Innovative FAKRO installation systems combined with newly designed warm frame construction and use of low-E single chamber glazing units allowed us to create “Energy Star” efficient products. Features and benefits of our skylights include:

1. DELIVERY OF SKYLIGHTS IN ONE PACKAGE WITH FLASHING FOR FLAT ROOFING MATERIALS (MOST POPULAR SIZES). By providing a special frame and installation system FAKRO was able to ship flashing in the same box as the skylight unit – saving store space and eliminating incorrect purchase or delivery of the wrong roof flashing. Savings in shipping cost is also realized.

2. NO INSTALLATION BRACKETS. The special frame makes the installation process very easy and eliminates the need for specialized installation brackets. The installer saves time during installation – needing to drive the six provided screws through six predrilled holes.

3. GASKETS BUILT ON THE FRAME. Our skylights create a better insulated interface between the frame and the roof surface. This is achieved by partial insertion of the skylight inside the roof opening in connection with an additional pre-installed perimeter gasket and thicker frame. Thermal bridges are minimized and the gasket eliminates the cost and time normally associated with installing an extra seal between the frame and roof deck. The built-in gasket on the frame protects against leaking and outside condensation – preventing water leakage and drip damage behind finished wall surfaces.

4. INTELLIGENT FRAME SIZING ELIMINATES NEED FOR ADDITIONAL DRYWALL SUPPORT. Our oversized frame provides mounting support for drywall installed directly adjacent to the skylights – no need to install extra support. For installation of a 4 x 4 size skylight, that equates to a savings of approximately two hours of labor. More light – wider glass.

5. EXTRA PROTECTION AGAINST CONDENSATION (NO DRIPPING ON THE DRYWALL). Special internal gasket system prevents condensation from dripping on and behind the drywall around the frame.

6. WARMER LOW PROFILE WINDOW WITH A BETTER INSULATION SYSTEM – WHICH LOWERS YOUR UTILITY BILL.

7. INSIDE FRAME IS DOUBLE-COATED WITH AN ECOLOGICAL LACQUER. Builders save time and money - FAKRO frame skylights are already finished.

8. TEMPLATE IS PROVIDED FOR EASY, ACCURATE, AND EXACT SIZING OF ROOF OPENING.
