Thermo Deck Mounted Skylights

Next-Generation Triple Glazed Deck Mounted Skylights

Discover the next generation of deck-mounted skylights, designed for exceptional energy efficiency, modern aesthetics, and easy installation. The PDX (fixed) and PDS (solar vented) skylights feature triple glazing, a sleek frameless exterior, and premium build quality. Ideal for both residential and commercial applications.

Product Highlights

The skylight features a triple-glazed glass unit with two insulating air spaces that significantly reduce heat loss and block outside noise. The multi-chamber PVC frame is filled with high-density styrofoam, eliminating thermal bridging and improving overall energy performance. Together, these components provide exceptional thermal insulation, with a U-value as low as 0.29  [BTU/h ft2F], making the unit suitable for energy-efficient construction in all climate zones.

Thermo Deck Mounted Skylights

Thanks to a wide installation pitch range of 0° to 60°, the PDX and PDS skylights can be installed on virtually any roof style, including:

  • Cathedral ceilings – perfect for open, vaulted interior spaces

  • Sloped ceiling attic rooms – ideal for finished attic conversions

  • Low-pitched and flat roofs – compatible with modern, minimal roof designs

This flexibility makes both models an excellent choice for remodels, new construction, and energy-efficient upgrades across a wide range of building types.

Why U-Value Matters

U-value measures how well a skylight insulates by indicating the rate of heat transfer through the glass and frame. The lower the U-value, the better the insulation performance. This directly impacts indoor comfort and energy efficiency by reducing heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer.

Most standard deck-mounted skylights have U-values between 0.40 and 0.50 BTU/h ft²F. In comparison, a U-value as low as 0.29 BTU/h ft²F delivers up to 42% better thermal performance, meaning significantly less heat escapes through the skylight. This leads to lower heating and cooling costs and helps maintain a more consistent indoor temperature throughout the year.

Selecting a skylight with a low U-value is an effective way to improve overall building efficiency, reduce utility expenses, and enhance year-round comfort.
